saving something...

most of yesterday was spent sitting around in my underwear doing nothing (much like this very moment)...there was a bit of an incident later in the evening when i took the doggies for a walk...around the block where the alley that runs behind our apartment hits the adjacent street, just as we had walked past it i noticed our neighbor's dog (a big, black one) had gotten loose and was walking towards us...now, here i am with three small little terriers who will bark at anything and everything (and sometimes nothing) and have no idea that a big dog like that could kill them without too much effort...my first instinct was to run but luckily better judgement kicked in less than a second later...so i just quickly turned around and said something like "no. stay back." in a commanding voice and pointed at it and maybe shooed my hand some...then it just stayed back sort-of hiding behind these bushes...so i thought to myself "whew" and kept on walking...luckily my dogs didn't notice it so that went by without incident...THEN when we were almost to the end of the block i hear the sound of a cat shrieking the shrieks of a cat being mauled by a large, black dog...so i turned around but they were pretty far away and i couldn't see what was going on too well, but it looked like the dog was shaking its head around (as if it were maximizing the effect of ripping apart a cat that was in its jaws)...i yelled something like "no! stop that!" and the dog kind of walked back a little...the shrieking stopped, i don't know if it let it go or it was already dead or whatever or what...being that far away there really wasn't much i could do and by that point it was probably too late anyhow...going back over there would have only made either my dogs more victims for the big dog or the cat victims of my dogs as wel...cruel, cruel world...then a little bit later, a bunch of folks turned up at my apartment...Jacques, Amber, and Justin...then Amanda and Jason a little bit later...not much really went on...some video game playing...some watching some stuff on internet...some just sitting around...i had gotten a lot of sleep the night before, but i still managed to get really tired...and now i'm just sitting around today...the doggies are resting...Lizzie and Lacey on the bed next to me, Leala on the floor directly behind my chair...
