computers = fag shit
my internet has not been working for the past several days...i'm currently at my parents' doing laundry...and now for the big, exciting update:
wednesday i did my big bout of grocery shopping...that was exciting...i spent a disgusting amount of money on food, then again, i was pretty much out of everything...
thursday...uh...uh...i finished reading The Ticket that Exploded by William S. Burroughs...The Family Ghost practiced, though Brad came home late and it was short...it was still some alright rockin'...Amanda and Jason came over too...Jason had brought over Blonde Redhead: Misery Is a Butterfly 'cuz i had ordered it and it came in and stuff...
yesterday, during my lunch break at work, i found out that i would be playing a show THAT NIGHT...Matt had gotten our little project thing (christened at the last minute, at least for last night, O Hole...we almost went with Fist Orchid but, obviously, didn't) playing at the Skate Park of Memphis for Crypt Orchid and Wet Labia's last shows (!!! something i was more than happy to be a part of, as they're both horrible...especially Wet Labia...i knew something about Crypt Orchid having a last show but i didn't know it was the end of Wet Labia until they had stopped playing and were talking about it or something...awesome! members of each band are moving to L.A., apparently a good place for sucky people to move to...) i got off work and after a damned long time Matt made it over to my place, Amanda and Justin had come over before and Amanda was kind enough to offer the spacial services of her vechicle for transportation of stuff...as it was a last minute thing i just grabbed a "few" things...Wasp, ARP Avatar+Sequencer, Moog Liberation, my little drum machine that's currently not working right (will only play one metronomic beat) and maybe half of my pedals to run it through, keyboard amp, and my clarinet...Matt just brought his Micromoog...we played last...and i'm sure you've already picked up on the comedy of it but i'll mention it again, it was extremely comical of us to be playing at a skate park...yeah...oh, i also brought my smaller card table to set my stuff up on...i had the Wasp and drum machine + arsenal of pedals atop it...the ARP gear was on the floor underneath...Crypt Orchid's drummer let Matt play on her set...he was also rocking on the two Moogs (they were hooked up together through cv)...i also had a mic next to me and busted out the clarinet a few times...though it wasn't loud in the pa and i could barely make anything out i was playing except for the sqwaks...so that was a little disappointing...Jason said i looked COOL holding the clarinet so i guess that's what's important anyway...so yeah, we just made a bunch of noise...a few times the two bass players from Crypt Orchid got up on stage and did stuff too (one of 'em also made these really annoying noises with his mouth into the microphone...that was the only part that really sucked...) at the end Justin got up on stage and played bass too...we made a lot of noise and it was good fun...it was kind of slow getting into it at first, but towards the end a lot of really cool things were actually happening...i think i got the coolest sounds from the monotone drum machine run through the effects...(ring modulator, fuzz pedal, wah pedal, phazer, analog delay, digital delay, and loop station...if anyone really cares that much...) The Family Ghost needs to play the skate park, that would be totally gnarly!!!
