ateolf | Another Show

Once again, expecting the plumber to come back but he didn't show up. So now we're in the who-knows-and-shrug waiting period. At night Mary Beth and I went up to the Hi Tone for a show. The a/c situation is still the same, but the little portable a/c unit works fine when the room isn't crowded like last week so it was okay. Dinosauria played first and he was good as always. Then it was a touring band called Silver Fern and they were good. Shoegaze-ish rock with a bit of a post-Tortise type of post-rock rhythm section (maybe the drummer was a bit over-busy for the music but overall it was really good and the guitars and vocals were really good). Oh yeah, and I picked up their cd Silver Fern: s/t. Last it was a local band I wasn't familiar with called Speaker Girl and they were a lot like the early aughts post-indie commercial stuff like Strokes or Killers or Interpol or whatever and I guess that's about what I've got to say for that. But now...it's Friday time!
