I had a big cds-in-the-mail day yesterday. The first package was the big one. So not too long ago Flag Day Recordings sent out notice that they were having a big sale to pay off an upcoming bill and avoid interest and so I went and checked it out and got a bunch of stuff. And on top of the sale, all their older cds were super duper cheap to start off with. Anyway, in toto I got: Katharina Schmidt: Echography; Manja Ristić: Rings of Water; v/a: Hordijk, Vol. 1; Imbued Vagary: Interstellar Invasion; Grave Nature: Ascending; Without Mirrors: s/t; Gleb Kanasevich: Subtraction; Luco Sigurtà & Sergio Sorrentino: Naked Brunch; and Ynicorns: Intervals. Then in the other two packages I got: William Basinski: The Disintegration Loops and Chris and Cosey: Songs of Love & Lust. I finally finished up the flyer for the tape release show I have (now in less than a month). I had been working on this one design much of last week and it was a little involved but then after I finished it, I saw that it was too busy and just kind of looked bad so I started over. Both versions involved modifying the artwork of the tape itself but before I'd used more colors and mixed it up more. For this one, I didn't have as many smaller versions of the album and just focused on one color with more subtle glitching and I think it worked better (it was also easier and quicker to make! but, of course, after I'd already lost so much time on the other one). After work Mary Beth and I went up to Kroger and, in a new development for us given the time we went, there were no registers open and we had to self-checkout and it was a huge pain in the ass. Okay, and that's my update.
