Grab Bag

I got a big package of cds in the mail yesterday. A record store in Wisconsin called Within Things had a grab bag sale on Table of the Elements cds where you get twenty random cds from the label (and their offshoots Radium and Xeric) and so I took it up and got: Presocratics: Presocratics Serve Imperialism, San Agustin: The Expanding Sea, B.C. Gilbert: Ordier, v/a: The Great Koonaklaster Speaks: a John Fahey Celebration, Agathe Max: This Silver String, Richard Youngs: Advent, Megafaun: Bury the Square, Jonathan Kane: Jet Ear Party, Jonathan Kane: February, Alastair Galbraith: Talisman, v/a: Impala Eardrums: a Radium Sampler, Jon Mueller: Metals, Thuunderboy!: s/t, Pauline Oliveros: Primordial Lift, William Hooker / Lee Ranaldo: The Celestial Answer, Ateleia: Formal Sleep, Rhys Chatham: Two Gongs, Ateleia: Nightly, and R. Keenan Lawler: Music for the Bluegrass States. (That's nineteen (though the San Agustin one is a three disc set) as I only got one that I already had, being Gastr del Sol: The Harp Factory on Lake Street.) Then at night Mary Beth and I went to an Indie Memphis screening of Looking for Langston, called sort of a meditation on Langston Hughes and his homosexuality. It was good. We ran into Karl there too. Then we made a little jaunt over at The Fresh Market. That's about it for now.
