Say, "Om..."
I went out to see Om play last night and had a bit of a snafu on the way over. I got a fucking ticket for "improper lane change." So that's fun and dumb. And the best part was I took a wrong route that I wasn't planning on taking, but happened to default to autopilot once I got in my car and went the direction I take going to work every day. Anyway, I ended up being a little late and missed probably the majority of Wovenhand's set, though I did see at least the last ten minutes and what I saw was good. Mary Beth and I saw Wovenhand many years ago. Om was good. Just what you'd expect from Om, I guess. Repetitive, kinda slow bass riffs with a pretty heavy low end. I picked up a t-shirt and a cd, Om: Advaitic Songs. At work today we had our going-away lunch for Eric at Maciel's. It was delicious, of course. A little sad to know Eric's going, I mean, he's been carrying a lot of the weight on this team for a good while! (I've worked with him on other teams in the past before, and he's always been a good guy to work with, even being remote). Oh, and I picked up my ticket for Kraftwerk up at Crosstown in July for the presale today. Tickets don't officially go on sale til tomorrow so that's uh pretty sweet.
