Down
Haven't been able to update in a few days 'cuz the internet's been down here (since Tuesday when there was this really windy storm). So what's been happening outside of that? On Monday we went to see this short at Crosstown Arts: Ellis. It was pretty good. Afterwards there was a really good discussion about immigration (especially relevant given the predictably horrible political climate surrounding the issue due to the very recent events). They had a bunch of artists of different mediums whose art all has a connection in some way to immigration (a few being immigrants themselves). Crosstown had everyone move their chairs against the wall into a circle after the movie ended. It actually worked out pretty well and the discussion from everyone was really good. Of course, it started off mostly just the artists going around answering the questions, and after some mild prodding other people started pitching in (you know how that goes) and by the end I thought it was a good discussion, yeah. Okay. Tuesday after work I finished reading Collected Shorter Plays by Samuel Beckett and that was some good stuff! Some of the plays were quite excellent. Yesterday Mary Beth and I went to the Brooks to see the winners of the British Arrow Awards. I'm not the best person to judge the results as I absolutely loathe advertisement so it was about as expected. But hey, good night to go out and do something as there wasn't any internet at home anyway. And that's about it for now.
